PUBLIC RADIO DAY

by KPFK

A cornerstone of public radio is that it is free to all, yet what that means is that it relies on those who are able to afford to support We hope you’ll join together with your fellow Californians to help amplify this critical service.

Introducing the first-ever California Public Radio Day. It’s a special day of unity taking place on August 27, 2020, with public radio stations all across the state participating. KPFK is uniting with public radio stations across our great state from Mendocino to San Diego to remind you about the importance of local, non-profit public radio.

A cornerstone of public radio is that it is free to all, yet what that means is that it relies on those who are able to afford to support this unique institution.

But with so many out of work, others thrown into turmoil from illness it’s now paramount that we get everyone who can stand for us, to do it now,

Will you join KPFK on the first-ever California Public Radio Day supporting the future of public broadcasting in California for generations to come?

Chris Hedges who spoke about his new book, America: The Farewell Tour, where he argues that neither political party, now captured by corporate power, addresses the systemic problem. A bitter cry reported from communities across the country, America: The Farewell Tour seeks to jolt us out of our complacency while there is still time.
